Automation products used in printing machinery include PLCs, HMIs, frequency converters, servo drives, and low-voltage electrical equipment.
The main controllers for printing machinery are still primarily PLC-based. Medium-sized PLCs are the most common, followed by small PLCs, while micro PLCs are only used for single-machine control of some auxiliary equipment.
HMI products mainly consist of text terminals, touch screens, and tablets, with touch screens being the primary application in the printing industry. Siemens’ HMI products have a slightly larger market share in the printing industry, while Mitsubishi and Proface have roughly equal market shares. Omron and Delta’s HMI products also perform well in the printing machinery industry.
